LENTEN REACH OUT
PROJECT
For our almsgiving, the Lenten
Reach-Out will be for Alison Smith's mission work in Haiti. The
Reach-out will take place during the entire season of Lent. Please
place your alms in the plastic canisters located at all entrances of the
Church. Your funds will be used to assist Gabrielle with the goal of
providing education and other needs . He is working with the David
Goy Foundation.
The children from St. Rose, a Catholic
school.
Over 90% of Haitians
are
Catholic. The closest church is about an hour walk away, but they have sometimes have Mass at school. They have different classrooms. They have local Haitian teachers. They learn English, French, math, science, etc. They eat rice and beans. Maybe with some chicken or goat. Matabonite is the "chapel" and then the small town where Gaby lives in Jacsonville, named after his father. It is located in the northeastern part of the country, in the Central Plateau, which is the poorest region of the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() THEY ARE ACTUALLY LOOKING AT THEMSELVES IN THE
