Forbidden City

The following set of photos are of the Forbidden City in the heart of Beijing.

The Forbidden City, now a museum, was the imperial palace of

St. Marys Cathedral

The following set are photos of St. Mary's Cathedral where Deacon Paul has been attending.
The statue is Fr. Matteo Ricci who help spread Catholicism in China. He founded St. Mary's

Great Wall of China

 

The following set of photos feature the Great Wall of China. Comprising a series of

stone and earthen fortifications built between the 5th century BC and the

Temple of Heaven

The following set of photos of the Temple of Heaven is a complex of Taoist buildings situated in southeastern urban Beijing. Construction of the complex began in 1420, and was thereafter visited by all subsequent Emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties. It is regarded as a Taoist temple, although the worship of Heaven, especially by the reigning monarch of the day, pre-dates Taoism.

The Temple grounds covers 2.73 kmē of parkland, and comprises three main groups of construction.
