Americanism Program
The
students of
North
American
Martyrs
Catholic
School
in
Monroeville
were
invited to join the competition in the Americanism Program, sponsored by North
Braddock AMVETS Post 60. This has
been an ongoing cooperative effort for the past several years.
Kindergarten through Sixth Grade participated.
The Theme was: What does an
American Veteran mean to me? On
Friday, April 17, Commander Rege Riley, accompanied by a three-man Color Guard
visited North American Martyrs School and presented various awards.
Kindergarten and First Grade participated in a Flag drawing contest.
Grades Second, Third, Fourth and Fifth participated in a Poster Contest
and Sixth Grade participated in an Essay Contest.
Numerous children won award, in addition three students won top awards
and will participate in the upcoming National Competition.
These three students received awards, trophies, medals and a $50 Savings
Bond.
